I never win anything like money There’s nothing else I can think of; Wait just a minute, sonny. What about that prize on the radio, love? You got two full meals at Hardee’s® And shared one with a workee. I still say I haven’t won. Oh, but you have. Remember that poet’s thing, son? Yeah, that’s right, but that’s not salve For my conscience, Sir— This mind of mine is in a blur…. Okay, I’ll admit it, you’re really right: I have won several things; The most important one is my sight. No, there’s another that makes you sing: It’s the Lord Almighty in your life; He takes away all your strife.
So, from now on, son; Remember to pay respect to The One Who watches over you From sun to sun to Son.
He does take away stife, stand by us while we are living life, forgive us as we stay from him and come back again. I do respect him though. Forever and ever he will be. Eternity is waiting for me.
Wonderful write you have penned and passing it along to your son..God Bless! What you have won has no dollar signs attached and those are the best kind.....
George, this is such a beautiful inspirational poem...your voice speaks to the reader in a manner to show it's from your heart. I enjoyed this a bunch!
When two men hit the reset button and decide to go out looking for the good in the world, they not only find it but also a lot more.
