Some times, things rattle around in my head, begging for release.
I have no candle or flashlight with me When I search the inner part of my head. Going there, I want answers to questions, But get everything else instead. There's a long tunnel that starts at my forehead And goes back as far as I can see in dim light. Walking on cushions of velvet, I move forward And sensations begin that make my chest tight. I see a glimmer of light blinking just ahead on the left; Another appears across from it on the other side. Arcs of electricity form between them, then die. Another arc follows, then another as I continue this ride Through the center of my half-useful brain. Further still a light shines both left and right, And I wait for the arc between them to appear; Nothing happens between these as I move on While lights blink on and off, no arc; I feel fear. What's happening inside this head is mysterious And makes me think of times I've been here before When everything seemed to work just right And now some one, some thing has closed my mental door. I move on and the darkness gets worse, no electricity…. My fears deepen the further and further I go. I'm truly scared when I reach the end of my brain, No action back here and the ceiling is low. Bending knees, I ask for redemption and try to fall asleep.
George this is a psychological thriller, beautifully written! It's amazing how we can perceive our minds workings, though not always understand the meaning. This one reminds me of the loss of brain cells as we age in life's journey.Thought provoking!
