witness my thoughts, oh Father Sky
for they rise higher than the tall pines
they soar with eagles across the rivers
and beyond the blue mountains...to him
witness my wounded heart, oh Mother Earth
for her tears fall against your breast
and like a dove who has lost her mate
her pain she calls out into the twilight
witness my soul, oh Great Spirit
never have I withheld its secrets from you
shattered and numbed with hopelessness
it howls a lament like the midnight wolf
how long will I walk amid the shadows
and my eyes refuse to seek the skies?
how long will this heaviness cover me?
as thoughts fly far away... to him
Outstanding write La Belle, nice to see your work here, take care...Hugs, Peggy

Indeed you poetry flows from within. You pour out on paper what many of us go through everyday. You give voice to the confusion we face as we journey through life. I wish one could hear the response of Earth and Sky. But the load that is lifted off your shoulders and heart after such dissipation of emotions is therapeutic though, for all of us. I enjoyed the piece.
LaBelle, you never cease to amaze me...This is a lovely and increditbly well written piece...a magical piece that touches unexpectedly. Outsanding work, my friend!
Blessings, La Belle,

Oh Sweet Sissy! This beauty touched my heart and stirred my Cherokee Blood! You and I will gather strength from our Cherokee roots, paint on a war face and strive on, as the warriors have before us! You are not alone, for I will always ride at your side. LOVE SISSY
