Beneath Burnished Moons
By La Belle Rouge
Soft kisses upon his calloused hands
that tend to needs and bend the bow
So swift and sure all his arrows fly
and never do his little ones hunger
Beauty of bronze skin and onyx eyes
his flowing river of loosened braids
sleek and black as moonless midnight
fall soft against my golden breasts
when beneath burnished moons we lie
and in my arms he finds his rest
Where eagles rise proud against the sky
and war is only a distant dark memory
He is a warrior of strength and valor
tender kisses soothe the indented scars
that mar the perfection of his chest
His troubled thoughts of bloody war cries
and fine painted ponies drift away now
as flesh against flesh our bodies rock
I fill his ears with sacred songs of old,
his heart with love and his flesh with fire
My brave warrior, conqueror of my heart
We will grow old together, he and I
roam forever the plains and mountains
sleep entwined beneath burnished moons

Poetry should be defined in this light...wherein images correspond softly with the beating of hearts entwined as this...in the old way of man and maiden under Father Sky...as it was meant to be. Even with you not feeling 100% you manage to leave behind perfection in these masterpieces.

Ahhh, Belle! This resonates with such an elegant cultural yet earthy beauty that is sinuous and radiant. I am in the firelight flickering on the walls, causing the painted ponies to dance... and especially with those sacred songs, surely the most hallowed sounds in the universe. Totally adore the underlying faithfulness and commitment this conjures. So beautifully tender... and the feel of those indented scars... enough to drive a Healer insane! Be well, Sweetheart. This brings to mind a Buster Keaton film I loved, yet I must be going crazy as no-one knows it.
This has a sadness to it....
The drug called "The Shari" has been used for vision quests over many years. But, when all the rivers start drying up, the tribe must send a young hunter named Tomás on a much more important trip through the Amazon.
