Frontier Justice
By La Belle Rouge

He was a solitary hard ridin cowboy
rode into this damn one horse town.
He was long and lean and looked sorta mean
from that black stallion’s saddle lookin down.

Well I might let em wine and dine and do me
but I never let myself set no store
on the sweet words of a lonely cowboy
whispered in the dark to a redhaired whore.

Knew some fallen women and a few floozies
that had married out of this dirty hell
but some a them got left behind in time.
Never to left would a been just as well

He swaggered up to the bar beside me
tipped his hat and asked “Buy you a drink?”
Those bedroom eyes looked deep in mine
my heart pounded, didn’t know what to think!

I’d known plenty men, in bed and out;
my heart dead and cold as winter’s snow
but I could feel what that stare was all about
and my whole body burned hot to know

The touch of that cowboy’s leathered hands
and the fire of his leerin lips on mine.
Wondered how he looked without that shirt
and then just about that time

His fingers danced up and down
the black stockins that covered my thighs
and the thought of those fingers between em
made me let out a long, deep sigh.

He said, “I been travelin a long spell now
without no feminine company by my side
why don’t you take me up to your room
for a hot meal and good hard ride?”

I answered with a harshness in my voice
though my heart was pounding still
“A smelly man with a three day beard
I aint done yet and I never will.”

He said, “Darlin that aint no problem
cause I’ll shave and then I’ll bathe.
You aint been with a real man yet
might even let you make you your slave.”

“Got an good strong rope in my saddlebag
and I could teach you to tie a strong knot.
I reckon long about midnight Darlin
you’ll be beggin for all I got.”

I felt the blush in my cheeks a risin.
Though I was a used up frontier whore
I felt like a virgin bride that night
when that cowboy knocked on my door.

He handed me a horsewhip and a rope
and said “Do with me Darlin what you will.”
I knew that me and that solitary cowboy
was bout to have us a night to thrill.

It’s ten years later and sometimes I kiss
the scars that mar his muscled back
cause the cowboy took me away from there
and he aint never brought me back.

books buried deep in my head, but you must have a library
in yours. You write so much, and your work is very outstanding !!!

Saucy! I guess they can poke more than a bunch of cows; I think it has something to do with being in the saddle all day, with that rockin hip motion. the last time I tried it all I got was the trot's. ;)

I love it when the Lady Belle puts her stories on paper of the old WEst and bar room ladies. This one is no exception...enjoyed it from beginning to end.

Yes, ma'am, the firebrand does know something about Frontier Justice. We just keep turning the page and telling our stories. Let's keep the Western alive, Belle - Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band - I sell one of those silver bullets, batteries included...I like your style here...I'd like you to do an episodic of these...out of the closet your style and out of the closet my style - whiskey and whip, there ain't no man or woman we can't get to bend...OVER! Excellent prose poem...burnin' the midnight oil with you...

Love,
Sage
