for parents who loved each other and me
for each beautiful childhood memory
my extended family and friends
thankfulness for them never ends

thankful for each painful adversity
that made a compassionate person of me
for two sweet babes who blessed my life
mother's love that remains beyond all strife

for health, food, and warmth in winter
for God's love and mercy to a sinner
creatures great and small gracing earth
bringing wonder, friendship and mirth

for companionship and honest love
our angels watching from above
the right to choose the path we take
peace, joy and new friends to make

so many things to give thanks for
strength within and each open door
another year to find our given place
another year lived in God's grace
