Becareful not to be careless this holiday season.......just because your invited don't mean you should go~~~
The curtains draw to archived ceilings
Of golden angels and faces of Gods
Burgundy fabrics criss-cross and hang
At least fourteen stories long
The creamy skin of the rich
Deck in diamonds and furs
$500.00 dollars a plate
for charity
and the symphony starts on……
glass sculptures and wine fountain
little sausages with cheese
appetizers for the first hour
of meet and greet
all starts to whine down as people
are directed to their seats
the dinner bell has rung ten o’clock
and the first course comes through
the door wearing steam
two hours have past all is full
with glee couples start to dance
while others sit and unbutton things
the midnight hour has come and past
Now some are tired and want to sleep
the walk hand in hand and but in cheek
to collect their things to leave
but there is no one there………..
none of the happy faces that greeted them at the door
no one of the wait staff that served
they look and the grand door was gone
along with the windows yet there still was song
they started back into the dinning hall
and looked to the orchestra
musical instruments started to drop and fall then deteriorate
as musicians floated above like doves
blurred vision in a pool of color and sound
leaving the poor rich crowd wondering why and how
down the long stairs I appear in a formal gown
the hostess of the benefit floating off the ground
I thank you all for coming
It was such a delight
Now it’s time for me to prepare my feast
This eve before thanksgiving night
Humans taste so much better than turkey
Don’t you think goulees~~~~~~~~~~~
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving my Authorsden family

Drumroll those meaty drumsticks, I say! This had me gripped, for certain sure... to begin with, I thought it was the Rapture, with all the waiting staff and doorpeople having been translated, leaving the rich to their spoils.... Rapture of a different kind, I guess... Vulture, more like! You are gooooooooooooooood at these, Mitzi. K xx
mitzi, where in the world have you been. it is so good to read you again. have you been here and i've been missing you...well for sure i missed you, either way you look at it.
*chuckling here* or am *cackling with evil intent*? LOL. Thank you for this delicacy, Mitzi. And now I know why you found my vampire's McDonald's comment so amusing. ;-) ~~Nordette
