A cold night in November,
Just before Thanksgiving Day,
I heard a knock upon our door,
Then someone ran away.
My Momma went outside to see,
Who was on our porch,
But put her hand upon her mouth,
Like my Momma had been scorched.
Two sacks were overflowing,
Of foods of different kinds,
The fixings for Thanksgiving Day,
That was on my Mommas mind.
We had no way of knowing,
Who gave us all this food,
But Momma had a great idea,
And from it, we'd know who.
She invited all the neighbors,
She invited our little church,
She invited all our relatives,
And everyone from work.
The morning of Thanksgiving Day,
Another knock came on our door,
A Boy Scout with more sacks in hand said,
“I thought you'd need some more”.

The story is so filled with good will and kindness, and the boy scout's appearance with more is a great ending!
It's truly a blessing for a family in need when someone answers God's call and gives generously.
