preview of sifting through the sands, a look at my path to peace, acceptance, and eventually happiness

Poem Artwork

The stone garden I patiently tend to the stone garden in my back yard raking in circles creating ridges mountains and valleys a planted a tree here and there stars shining bright in the moonless sky and there you are the brightest of them all but will you burn out or shine on forever will you one day take that in which is already yours or will you keep on passing it by never seeing the forest for the trees I patiently tend my stone garden but you’re the stones that I tend with the most care Cory Clark The last moment A twinge of pain eats it way through my body The light begins to falter in my eyes a feeling of peace overcomes me in a flash I feel a rush of love as my soul begins to ascend to new and more heavenly heights only that my body may rest in the peacefulness of the dust in which it now lays. Cory Clark The hours before grace The last flicker of amber light burns out as the sun settles down onto the horizon setting the trees ablaze as it fall in behind them for all of us to see. Shadows start there creeping covering and consuming every thing in it’s path, devouring me along with every thing else. It befouls everything that it touches spreading its evil to all during those darkest hours as it marches across the earth. Then as the sun begins to peak her head from under the horizon showing off her fiery hair once again, and her amber glow burns off the darkness. An if you had wandered about the grace of God then just watch the setting and rising sun and know that even when it seams the darkest the will sun rise, and in this you will see that even after the son had been buried he rose and he rises every day for all to see. Then never question again because he is grace. Cory Clark Teaching the Blind to See When teaching the blind to see you must show him the man who can’t stand and still learned to walk. When teaching the blind to see you must show him who is def and mute, but has heard the truth and found wisdom. When teaching the blind to see show him the dead man who lived a long life, but was never really ever alive. When teaching the blind to see introduce him to the mother on welfare who was rich beyond you wildest imaginings. When teaching the blind to see show him the monk gave every thing he had and became a beggar so that he would do well in the next wold. Show him the man who had eyes that worked but refused to see the world around him Show the man that who could see the flowers, the deer, the morning dew, the burning sun, the then and the now, but refused him self. Then give him a mirror so that he can see himself for who he is and find out that it was me all along. Cory Clark SAVE THOSE THINGS ETERNAL Closing my eyes to the world A red sky reins, and black rain falls, soot covered trees sway in the silent wind. Desire and lust fill the soul, compassion fails in the hearts of men. It breaks my heart to see that man cares no longer for all of those things eternal. Acts of evil so common in these troubled times, I find myself so very baffled by the evil acts of once good men, as the cries of our lost innocents fills my ears. Oh, my dear lord when will you give us your mercies, and save us from the evil in our own hearts, and save all of those things eternal. Cory Clark Morning Alone I have sat on cold stones By the rivers side With my hearts desire lost to me I sit alone and cry Upon the stones so cold By the rivers side Thinking of the love which I lost Dreaming of dream that could have been Yet aren’t I sit alone and cried Upon the stones too cold By the rivers side Cory
