Alas, your heart was bruised and maimed
By some cruel hearted dame
When in fact, if truth be told
Her heart remained as pure as gold
A friend, a pal, a buddy true
A boon companion through and through
Had brought her to this fragile state
Afraid that love had sealed her fate
You knew the tale you had to tell
Her buddy was a ne'er-do-well
For her attention he would vye
Although he's not that kind of guy
He sabotaged your sacred love
The one sent down from up above
It looks as though things turned out great
He's just the type you love to hate...
