Yet, if we can recognize the nature of what happened then, can we see with clarity all that is happening now? Forms of colonization, exploitation, manipulation of the public opinion to make wars seem legitimate, separating developed cultures from savages and barbarians...
All of this still goes on. The devil has a thousand faces, but it's still the same old wrongdoer.
The three lines here tell a story of epic proportions! A timeless story of ignorance trampling the unknown. Fear dons the cloak and calls genocide righteous. A repetative story in history. It will only stop when we learn to embrace others' differences & give due respect. The painting is beautiful! The words, Keith, are dramatic & thought provoking. This one should have everyone looking inward~

The white death took over the Native American culture, too...such a tragedy, when the drums fall silent, so do her people. Excellent write, Keith, and beautiful painting, Hettie.
