Continuing the theme of Lucifer as the great liberator of humanity, the falsely accused and rejected father...why have we rejected our dearly bought liberty in favour of the storm god...the god that denied us knowledge of good and evil?

Painting of Lucifer by Hettie Rowley.

Dark becomes the light

Mourning ever for the love

Of those it set free

Liked this short one it says a lot. Mourning is not pleasant but our loved ones are set free at last and go into God's eternal presence. Thanks **********

Tears for Lucifer?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Son of Adam;did you slay your brother as of yore?
was it in the thirst for recognition that you sought?
LUCIFER;the brightest star,watching as before,
with hollow eyes gazing,at the bloody harvest wrought.
In the green, where mystery teems with suspicion,
hiding in his darkest dreams;sorrowful contrition.
Does he yet feel regret, seeking absolution?
He knows there are secrets kept
like prophets in seclusion.
In fascination and not just in pride,
he stood there for milliniums, while archangels bowed,
trading their glory,laying wings aside,
that wisdom made no sense to him, a creature so endowed.
And so it is written, from the mighty ranks he fell,
tumbling into the void,to know the thoughts of men.
orchestrating death,prince of battered hell,
confined in the knowing,he would never be free, again.
The Only Begotten has come to take his place,
and once more, the glory will be consummated.
but you cannot tell if there;s tears upon his face,
no heart knows such mercy;if not the One of Grace.
oh the magic of the dance, the colours, the temptation.
he is the child of circumstance,,the mystical equation.
recalling the voice that summoned with desire
he knows he had no choice, for it led him to touch fire.
but still he looks upward, abandoned and alone.
orphaned by a Father, who had plans of His own."

Contrasts, paradoxes, opposites that give birth to opposites, project.

Rejection. Fear. Intelligence is feared, while passivity advised or imposed, makes it easier to control... human matter.

Wonderful painting - great shapes and volumes, hieratic and human at the same time.

Balance and Liberation - two forces we need in our lives - setting the Dark free is allowing the Light in. This piece carries a Gothic torch, Keith...be well always...Blessed Be.

Keith,

Not sure why someone said this is too long for a Haiku. Perfect syllable count, but you know that. Very intriguing poem. I find it quite interesting that if I pause after "Dark" the meaning of the poem is somewhat reversed. Perhaps just my take on things - I am a bit odd. Thought provoking! Love the painting, too...you and your wife are skilled at widening one's perceptions! -Sheila

My friend, there is no shortage of love from you though is there, unrequited love indeed, for most fear darkness unlike you, don't they? A true shame, for the liberated to enslave themselves, may you have the best sunglasses ever Keith, this piece is an atomic bundle, it contains the potential of a major explosion if understood. Thanks Keith it is a pleasure to know your brilliance! Jasmin Horst
