on occasion i allow myself
the luxury of your company
as i sit on a balcony
overlooking a tropic sea

his eyes off your image
as we raise our glasses in a toast
to fantasy lovers
and maybe when the moon rises
we’ll dance on the white sand
we need only the music of the sea
the rhythm of the cresting waves
as i pull you tightly into my arms
cheek to cheek, chest to breasts
after i slip that strapless dress
down around your ankles
pull the pins from your fragrant hair
while i smear that red lipstick
over all the places i intend to kiss
on an occasion like this
