FORBIDDEN FRUIT


i have known a few women in my time
some friends, some lovers
some distant dreams
fragrant fantasies
forbidden fruit

i have kissed them with my lips
with longing imagination
caressed with hands
or love poetry
in reverie

yes i do lust for you sweet woman
but you lust for me as well
disguised with beauty
of tender words
desire burns

when i come to you in your bed
or as you walk the shore
for i am more genuine
than all other
past lovers

who have kissed your ripe red lips
only i know you inside out
merged perfectly together
in mutual thoughts
and dreams
