DANCE OF FIRE 2

darkness seemed the perfect cover for lovers
to savor a flavor of lips, a tango of tongues
so i kissed her until her breath became mine
i felt her curvaceous body melting against me
as scented soft met hard, famine met feast
our bodies swayed to the romantic rumba

the music stopped, we didn’t for some time
realizing the band had taken a short break
returning to our table covered in white linen
as virginal, pristine, as an unworn bridal gown
i watched her eyes, her body, for sure signs
the language of both spoke of her surrender

we sat close together lost in sensual magic
“to you” i whispered as i picked up my glass
after slowly running my tongue around the rim
i dipped it lightly it into the sweet red wine
even in dim candlelight i could plainly see
blush rising from cleavage to her soft cheeks
