Poem Artwork

When the fatigued sky hides behind a dark velvet cape

And silence sits upon the surface of the waters,

Whilst behind black clouds all the stars sheepishly escape

And the moon hides from its many fervent admirers,

I lie with open eyes, dreaming about starlit skies,

Dreaming about moons circling other planets,

And buttercups in green meadows, kissed by butterflies,

And moonlit rocky shores that the waves and wind buffets,

And dream of flying above mountains, above the clouds,

Floating, wrapped in rainbow, feeling relaxed and dreamy,

Soaring high, far, far away from the maddening crowds…

…And I dream about the “Dreamer” who dreamt about me…

When I lie out and watch the stars, either out on the boat on the beach or just anyplace, I dream of those looking back at me from above...this has that feeling...Peace, Ed & Rufuz

I couldn't resist the title, Peter... now, I am sitting here, stunned by the promise that title fulfilled and much more. How timely, how absolutely perfect for this day, this time in the world. Every line, every phrase drew me further in... in truth, were the world perfect and entirely happy, this poem would still have the quiet power to make me sigh out loud. This is, without question, a truly beautiful piece. katy xox.
