A dissident Russian spy died in London. Available evidence points to political murder…

Although I entered this under the category of "Crime" for want of a better categorization, "Politics" - if available - would have been a more appropriate category. (not political science!)

                        In Memoriam: Alexander Litvinenko

A dark shadow is cast over London,

A dissident Russian spy is now dead.

It seems that a ghastly deed had been done;

Murder? Did Moscow give the go-ahead?

It's not the first time that dark suspicion

Implicates the Kremlin in a foul crime;

Stalin shown no sign of inhibition

In ordering murder during his time.

Recently a brand new law had been passed,

Allowing the murder of "dissidents".

Dark shadows of Kremlin reborn from past,

To threaten protesters with impudence.

Too much power in the hands of a few

And "statistics" of dead 's on the increase…

Dark deeds of politics is the issue

That precludes mankind from living in peace.

Past sins keep living on in the present,

Hate and suspicion 's what dark deeds nurture;

Mankind must control this malevolent

Streak… or will we jump back to the future?

Footnote:

A recent law passed in the Russian Parliament allows the security services to eliminate "Enemies of the State".

Moscow denies any involvement in Alexander Litvinenko's death, (he was recently granted British Citizenship) but large quantity of radiation - probably from polonium 210 - has been detected in his urine, which implies a very sophisticated form of assassination.

Alexander Litvinenko was a staunch critic of President Putin.

 Reviews of "Back to the Future?"
Reviewed on December 3, 2006

All the lures of the modern States were learned and perfected from the socio-politics and pogroms taught by "THE HOLY LORDS OF THE INQUISITION"

"Back to the Future?" is an outstanding composition in Major Art honoring the English language and adding value to Poetry.

Healthy Long Creative Life, Poet.
