Sitting in the armchair, soundly asleep,
The furrows of pain are smoothed out at last,
Your breathing is shallow; your pain was deep,
Left you gasping for air, left you aghast…
I'm looking at you, searching for the past,
Through my tears, searching features of your face,
The beauty of which my memory cast
In pure marble, which passing time couldn't erase.
But cruel present etched deep lines on it,
Lines of suffering, deep furrows of pain,
The past is gone and the future is writ…
Nothing will be the same ever again.
I watch your peaceful sleep with heart aching…
Whilst guarding your dream my heart is breaking…

Thank you for visiting my pages and reading my work.
Like most writers I too am grateful for any comments left under my writings.
However, unlike most writers at Authorsden, regretfully I am unable to visit AD regularly and owing to extreme pressure on my time I can only spend a few minutes posting and updating my pages; I have no time to read fellow authors' work.
The best I am able to do is sending a thank you note when I next sign in.
Thank you for your understanding on this matter.

This is beautifully poignant. Impending loss is strongly detailed here...
