Do not count the days. /Haiku/
Writ into the act of birth,
Our fate is to die.

You walked into my life unexpected…
Tall, with dark eyes, dark hair, unsmiling face,
Called me dumb wit; I never suspected
Fate would guide us into a hot embrace.
Blowing cigarette smoke into my face,
You were so cool, serious and detached,
Radiant, demure and so full of grace
And I a dumb wit… we were so mismatched…
You, a scholar, a perfect A grade student
And I just a lazy average sod;
I thought studying together just wouldn't
Be right, or prudent, but utterly odd.
Yet, by some magic, it all worked like charm.
Friendship blossomed, then with spring in the air,
You reached out and - to my joy and alarm -
Playfully and cheekily ruffled my hair…
The rest, as they say, is now history…
Many predicted it would never last.
At no stage was it plain tomfoolery…
Oh Dear God, how time could fly by so fast?
You've been with me… friend, partner, lover, wife,
Someone to trust every inch of the way,
Companion to bring meaning to my life,
A solid tower of strength every day.
We live our lives from day to day and think
There will be another day tomorrow,
But every day disappears in a blink;
All that remains is regret and sorrow.
I know, nothing on earth could ever last,
But I find it now hard to comprehend
How time had flown away so very fast,
How soon we arrived to the bitter end.
The rest is silence. What else can I say?
That I loved you? By now, it is too late.
I should have said it aloud every day…
But here am I now, head bowed and prostrate…
Thank you for the time you spent amongst us…
Farewell my love, your fight was hard and long.
Your life's journey was brave and glorious,
You're back amongst angels, where you belong.
If there exists another dimension
By the good grace of a Spirit Supreme,
Be there and wait for my soul's ascension,
To unite with you in another dream.

A Beautiful poem written in ink blended of tears and passion. But nothing dies - ever! Your wife remains with you now and always through the ages - love, above all things is imperishable, eternal, immortal.
Blessings,
Keith
A moving memoriam that touched my heart and soul, Peter. You are in my thoughts and prayers. The time you had together was precious and your memories of her I hope will grace the pages of AD. I think writing about her will help you heal, Peter. God be with you.
Blessings,
~Linda

By the good grace of a Spirit Supreme,
Be there and wait for my soul's ascension,
To unite with you in another dream.

O, Peter, I am so sorry for your loss; may God be with you during this very sad time in your life! May He provide you the peace and comfort that passes all understanding!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in America, Karen Lynn in Texas. :( >tears! <
I am so sorry. How you loved her: she knew. It was evident in your writes about her, your steadfast dedication to be with her through the end. You honored her with your marriage vows and honor her memory with this powerfully personal, heartfelt eulogy. Please accept my sympathies.
If there's anything I can do, let me know.
(((HUGS))), love and prayer, Karla. *tears*
