Poem Artwork

catalogued under "Instinct"

i turn the thin pages onto you,

my kindred spirit,

you are there between the gilded edges,

leather binding it all as one

filed under "kindred"

i know where to find you when darkness comes,

when lights crest upon the distant hills

and autumn sends out a clouded moon

to guard the migrating of the geese

i lie listening for their call on the wind

and i swear they are speaking of you,

carrying your whispers on their feathered wings

Can I come to you when winter arrives

my bare arms awaiting the warmth of your embrace?

Can I please share my kisses with you

in the soft peace of a cold morning's halflight

with blankets between us but nothing else?

in this book beneath the definition of longing

where kindred spirits meet,

i wait for you again

As Axilea says, delicate and elegant, and the sheer quality of 'a clouded moon to guard the migrating of the geese' has made me warm and soft inside.

The beginning is so intriguing, it makes me want to know more, to open the book and read... between the lines. Lovely metaphor, delicate and elegant writing.

The very essence of kindred spirits is the fact that even though they may never meet or see each other...their hearts and minds are united in an almost magnetic hold forever. This wonderful write has it all, longing, desire, sadness but also a lot of love...

How beautiful Michelle, flows like a gentle river and has so much joy and hope inside. Really enjoyed this, I wrote one about the same subject, not as good as this. Everyone should have one right? Love, Bonnie
