This poem was based on some artwork that I saw on Amber's poem "Midnight Calling." It said the art was by David Piper Art. The picture really tickled me- it made me think of actual tickling and laughter and made me smile, but also of soulmates joining and tickling in other ways. :) Hope that makes sense, lol.

Poem Artwork

Other worlds on fine fingertips spread apart

please say hello if you are out there balancing

between moving particles and a radiating sun

messages encoded on flecks of fallen stars

oblivious to future meetings of our worlds

we rebounded into unknown airspace shared

face to face in fire flashes of ignited moons

ability gone to acquire or refute the surge

tentative tentacles of our two spare souls

first reach into each other’s atmosphere

until below the tentacles hasten to a spot

on the other’s tenderest of regions fair

first a touch but then a tickle from us two

to scratch an itch or maybe satisfy a need

to bring a giggle or a sigh and then a moan

until we’ve joined in deep celestial ecstasies

our tentacles join again as the low moons rise

where souls are kept in such a sweet surprise

to couple up when Venus sings of acid rain

an aching love that dares not speak its name

I marvel at your intricate thought processes, and your ability to turn them into an intriguing write. (I must remember to keep my tentacles where they belong.)
I love the blossoming of a tender love after tentative ticklings overcome all barriers.

Like two octopussies? As we get older mutual scratching takes the place of tickling. You tickled my senses.

like this one Michelle, and the way it has an almost mischievious alien feel to it. It is soft and yet powerful and I can also see where the picture would inspire you.

You wrote about tickling in a round about way, which gave the reader much to ponder and digest. The "reaching out" of two soul, one the giver, one the recipient is penned quite well and absolutely does not divert or attention fro detail. Two strangers on a wave of a moonbeam making contact. It really, honestly, doesn't get much better than that.

Such are the joys we share with each other and yes Michelle I thought that too when I read her poem and saw this pic. Thank you for sharing.
