I want to thank Doug for joining me on this one and putting up with my love of art. xx-M

Poem Artwork

Crunching home and treading so far back upon my heart

Wandering has now become routine since you did depart

Once my shining beacon in the graying darkness of the night

Alas, now my travel’s ended as I seek an earned respite

Bare trees under a hint of mistletoe

Can you ever know those you hold so dear will leave here and go?

On the darkening horizon will winged angels appear?

Or over stormy fields will fiery horses draw near?

Black stick arms a signal on winter’s white cloak

Igniting the star-filled sky - all of the angels spoke

Warning that a love bound is no love at all

And the wild stallions of possession will bring only a fall

Tell me if it is so

I’ve got to know

Meet me in the meadow below

Below the ice and the snow

Yes, it is so, I will meet you out there

Though I fear the dark chambers of my heart shed bare

I will meet you in spring’s meadow now frozen cold

To share with you my love until we grow old.

So here we hold each other with our inner secrets told

Naked, frightened to death, living bold as disclosed

Who will leave and be the first to go?

Quietly waiting under a hint of mistletoe.

Beautiful poem ~ I am enchanted by the snow and words, and my favorite line is "warning that a love bound is no love at all"

I'm absolutely taken with this verse. It's so simple and direct, yet so urgent. The whole poem's engrossing, a tale eternal of love's hope anduncertainty.

"Black stick arms a signal on winter’s white cloak..." I love this line!
I love the stilling aura you two have created here...like waiting for a kiss, unknowing... left canoodled in thoughts of hope vs. hopelessness...
So enjoyed!
Love and Peace~
