fullness of time, spurs powerful
heat of passion, burning desire.
Nature consumes like new love.

First golden leaf of Autumn
drifts downward – a debutant
swooning for swift wind to catch,
carry her far from Nature’s taunt.

Winter’s snow like manna feeds
crusty soul, fills barren heart
until remembrance of what
yet may be inspires Nature’s art.

Blooming things where hummingbirds
sing and hover for their food.
Ah – joy of Spring, life, and love –
What hope Nature now exudes.
