This was the transcription to the frontpiece of a 1993 poetry book I never could publish. I wish I had put it in my "Across the Sea of Madness" but I just found the manuscript to these poems. There's something about this excerpt that says a lot about me, so I like it but of where to use it I don't know...
Meanwhile, plenty of that summer rain coming down but too hot to enjoy it...
The Sweet Earth and the Summer Rain
You've got to have a way for me,
or how can I go on dreaming like this?
I am the Sweet Earth, and the Summer Rain
Ever falling down upon you,
Oh Sweet Earth! And the Summer Rain ever falling down upon YOU.
