As we gaze through the windows, The lights begin to flicker... The bulbs, dim to brown There's sudden darkness all over town Candace cries out, filled with fear Nana says, "baby, your nana's here" It's autumn in the Catskills
As one hour turns to two I'm not sure just what to do Trying to keep the child from crying and inside I'm slowly dying.. My husband is not here and I want to shed my own tears It's autumn in the Catskills
I start to sing her a lullaby I'd climb a mountain so she won't cry She giggles up at me and says "Nana.. can you see me? And through the candlight I smiled I stroked her cheek and said no doubt It's autumn in the Catskills
