Jesus is Crowned with Thorns (Meditation)

They placed a crown of thorns on Your head.
They gave you a military robe to wear,
And a reed as your scepter.
Then, they mocked you!
Sometimes, when I stand-up for what is right,
I, too, am mocked.
The sadness that ensues
Is more than I can bear.
It makes me truly want to swear.
What good does swearing do?
It increases my blood pressure.
It makes me want to cry.
But, still I need to try
And fight my fight
For what is right.
The strength of my convictions
I use as powerful weapons
Against those who choose to mock
By trying to remember –
It’s just a bunch of crock!
Help me to focus on
Engaging my mouth
Before setting it in motion.
To You I give my undying devotion.
