joshua trees bow in this land
cottonwood forest on dry wash bed
i find peace in the desert
where i soar like a hawk
and fly with the raven
birds eye view over the sand
a tumbleweed comes near
reminding me of the
pricks and pokes i've meet
along my lifes journey
i rejoice that it rolls on past
i am a lover now
and not a fighter
there are a few of us left
i've learned that i don't know
what i know
until i know
i know it
then i smile a knowing look
i'm glad i know what i know
i stand at the road
put out my thumb
i know he'll be here
in a pick up truck
Hi Debby,
I go to the desert all the time to put peace back in my soul. I live in Arizona. Joshua trees grow only in this little part of the world. I always thought that was something. I watch the hawks for hours and some eagles too. Great write. Gregg
Imogene, a country-bred girl, longs to make a life for herself in New York City. She joins forces with her former college roommate to start a movie production company in the big city.
Deputy Dave Jenkins investigates the murder of local high school principal, Jerry Egge, but this is a multi-faceted novel that deals with spiritualism, romance, friendship, and children who fall through the cracks.
