the creator shook the box
then tossed the pieces
onto the table, scattering
them everywhere

each piece, like a person
completes the puzzle
it remains unfinished,
until it is whole

over eons of time
the pieces are sorted
some have edges
some are the middle

through trial and error
the pieces connect
beginning to create the picture

a sorting takes place
of like colors and shapes
some easily slide together

others use force
until they realize
the fit.. just wasn't right

near to the end
the lost are found
and easily fall into place

the completed puzzle
is a beautiful new world
where every hand holds
and they all..make up the whole

then the creator decides
to frame the new beauty
or shatter it again
and put it back in the box
