spending a moment this morning entangled in some of my poetry roots

Poem Artwork

visiting the graveyard today
feeling a chill across my arm
the magnetic field still affecting
all that ever was
sitting for the longest time
feeling the scent and swirl
within and without my soul
and heart

time…the ever/never dimension
that floats in layers
bursting rays of prism
holograms of existence
bouncing reflections upon
halls of mirrors in a honeycomb
of a thousand eyes, I sigh

the black cat comes to me
rubs his cheek across my knee
I lift him close across my chest
hug him snug and give him love
I wrote about love upon your death
like an opened pathway from your
last breath

you taught me things in shamanic way
we illusioned life in sensual sway
and I never did like the dragonscale
but a lions purr still wags my tail
and the love I’ve found still lives on
in other worlds of everyday

where I still trip and scuff my heels
when the ego reels and I singe my whiskers
sparking magicke from the endless whispers
that seem to always refresh like the star dust
trails from shooting stars

this heart will always be a sacred place
grown from the roots of words filled expressed
where your nurture/nature was compassion
filled of the grace you shared with me

Powerful write my friend, filled with intense imagery and much thought. Great artwork, a wonderful combination. I often find myself visiting the graveside of my grandparents and one of my best friends, brings me peace somehow, helps me to untangle my thoughts when they seem all intertwined within...well done!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

like the mergence of words and graphic, Debby. They are both intriguing and warmly eery... if that makes sense! Comfortable, at any rate. This person's work and aura has definitely left a mark on your soul which has been rekindled by this visit to his burial ground. There is no fear here, only wonder. And you capture that equilibrium beautifully. I find my mother's graveyard a similarly comfortable and comforting experience and it is also there that I find previously unearthed memories suddenly and mysteriously resurfacing. TY Kate xx

To write a poem that sounds like a poem takes a poet to do.
To write a poem that sounds like a prism takes a words sculptor.
You are both.
