rubbing my toes
cursing high heels
who invented these things
the beautiful elegance
to shapley legs
probably some man
that didn't have to wear them
that didn't learn
the awkward yet graceful
art of balance
not knowing they'd get
caught in cracks
and elevator platforms
or fall through holes
on grated walkways
the annoying snap
when the heels break off
the clicky clack
when the tread is worn
rubbing my toes
thinking if I
was really spoiled
I'd soak my feet
in a bottle of Champaign
and giggle with its
effervescence
now my wife needs to read this. of course she's doing better. she tries to squeeze her 9.5's into a 9. then come the pain. enjoyed this. G
