Love beyond our human bounds of thinking

A husband loved his wife so much that he showed her and told her every day.

It did not matter to him that she had wrinkles and her hair was turning gray.

When she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease at only sixty-five,

He was very patient, supporting and caring besides, she was still alive.

He took his time as he reminded her who he was in the mornings.

He just smiled when she struck out at him without warning.

Their children could not understand this love he had for his wife.

Besides, he had been there for her all of his devoted life.

“Place her in a nursing home so she could receive better care.

The burdens of taking care of her are more than you can bear.

Nobody will blame you for wanting to be free of responsibility.

She is starting to become an arduous and expensive liability.”

“Look how she stole that food at the grocery store.

She just pushed the cart right out of the door.

You were looking for her favorite kind of dessert.

She rushed out of the store and she could have been hurt!”

“We know that your vows stated until death do you part.

However, she will always have a place in your heart.

A place where you will always know the woman that you wed,

So, don’t let the idea of a nursing home fill you with dread.”

The husband did not listen to his children about his wellbeing.

He did not say anything because they would only end up disagreeing.

He knew that his wife might die one day before he left the world.

She was ten years older than him; however, she was still his girl.

He loved her so much as he bathed her and combed her hair.

He wanted her to know that he will always and forever be there.

He cried so many tears he could have filled an ocean when she died.

His only relief was knowing that he never left her side…
