Poem Artwork

Pen moved across paper, a poet’s words paint definition

Reminiscent of an artist’s brush applied to blank canvas

Both blending radiance and shadow attempting to find the right hue

In anticipation of offering beauty, intensity and composition

An excellent comparison of the stroke of the brush and the stroke of the pen. Each one puts our lives on paper.

The picture can be the same it is only a difference of brush or pen...poets and painters can take one to where there are no limits...very nice, Dawn...

what a lovely quatrain this is! I love short verse, their brevity and power and this piece is a perfect example of that. Excellent in every way here.

I was just thinking how the poet can paint a picture with words and cause even the blind to see. This is such a splendid write, Dawn.

Your enjoyable words fall on agreeing ears.
This poem is proof that all it takes are simple words.
It's the kind of writing that makes us go back and read, again...
fearing that we've missed something even more meaningful. - Bill

It could only have been said thusly, Dawn . . . To say that true poets are artists is as natural as taking the next breath . . . Pooets paint with words, which make it all the more difficult to make themselves understood . . . Unlike those who pain, poets must paint their scenes and words inside the reader, to get close to their psyche, not merely their visionary sense . . . Very nicely done, poet . . .
