Poem Artwork

Nameless faces

and

forgotten places –

fragments of the past race through his mind

at the speed of an oncoming train.

He struggles with a restlessness

he cannot quite understand,

offering excuses to calm all their fears –

perhaps even to quiet his own.

And if it is true time heals all wounds,

he wonders why he still hurts.

Then whispers a prayer to an all knowing God,

pretending to believe He will unveil all the answers,

before he runs out of time.

Hello Dawn,

This is a very "introspective" poem and the other side of it makes faith in God even more beautiful - because standing on the Rock of Ages holds one more secure....than standing on the cliffs of doubt and uncertain future. Great insight!

A cliffhanger where the answers dangle...sometimes it's sickness, physical or mental, sometimes it's disease that erases memory. Time on the side of spirituality restores the belief of prayer...looking inside the depths, we know there will always be questions and we have to search hard for the answers and take a leap of faith...solid words, Dawn...

Sage

There are times when each of us stands on our own precipice... I love the description of the restlessness he feels. I hate it when my mind runs in restless nameless circles, that nothing seems to calm...and those circles sometimes whir faster and faster creating tornadoes in my mind...

Very nicely expressed emotions of a man struggling to find himself or maybe even the opposite...to lose himself in the oblivion of life. Very nicely done Dawn.

Much said in a few powerful lines. As time passes we tend to see our lives with wiser eyes and doubts come to ask," Am I where I truly want to be and am I with my true soul mate?" Then the what ifs and might have beens play games with a troubled mind. SC

Dawn,
Very deeply nestled this poem comes alive from that place. There is so much to see in this world that will help. Living in the moment, is something I do now, and it really helps. This place in the photo looks so familiar to me, please, tell me where it was taken.
Much peace, love, and light to you and your family,
