Getting to who you always knew you could be is an amazing feeling
No one can see my scars
But I know where they are
No one can see my tears
Or hear the words
That echo in my ears
Would you really want
to know where I’ve been
to see the pain set deep within
to know the dark places
in my heart
Where would I start?
I have crawled through glass
To get to where I am
Heard words that no one
Should ever have to hear
Been abused by the master
Of pain and deceit
But never once
Did I declare defeat
For I always knew
you were out there
to love me as I am
to hold me and to show me
the me I was within
you make me want to be
better than I thought I could
to find pride in what I’ve done
in the woman I’ve become
Love is like that
It makes me see
What my love
Sees in me
No longer worthless
Or incomplete
The me I was meant to be
.
