Left on the Credenza
A calling card left on the sideboard
Yet my heart never strays from its pound
Could you prove t’is me you adored?
`Less I believe you’re just duty bound
My dress was merely one in the crowd
And every girl has pearly, white skin
Does the sight of my curls have you cowed?
Can the swell of my chest boast a win?
Can your stare pass all this silk and lace,
Or does it catch on bows of satin?
I am more than just a pretty face,
A spray of freckles, and a proud chin
If you noted my gaze is intense…
If you are not the average man…
If you don’t fear my intelligence…
…You have permission to call again

I most whole-heartedly agree. Beauty is so much more than a pretty face or a knock-out body. Many fail to see the beauty of the heart and mind. When the body is long gone there will always remain what truly matters. Ken need not be intimidated by the mind of our barbie, even though her beauty is more than skin deep. Peace, Love, Blessings and Friendship Always, Paul.
credence table noun
1 a small sideboard, originally one at which food was tasted for poison before serving
2 (Christianity) a small table or ledge on which the bread, wine, etc., are placed before being consecrated in the Eucharist
What a delightful echo from another age, with a so subtle reference to the toxicity of falsehood in the domain of romance.
Always love love your work and I am CERTAIN you will sign a publishing deal one day.

I am Barbie: hear me roar! A sassy comeback for any man (SOCIETY) who only looks at the outer appearance, rather than the intelligent woman, inside: well done!
