Artwork entitled "Call us Legion" by Joe Gomez Flores
As I embrace My fall from grace The roots of Heaven rumble I stumble And fall into Darkness The heights seems so far away And yet I remember the day When the World seemed so bright When my future was light And the Dawn of tomorrow Was a Beginning anew A life with you And now There is Nothingness Surrounding me The eternal Abyss No longer free I struggle with Chains of Hate Cry out But it’s much too late My doubts Surround me on all sides This Spiritual Drought Confounds me day and night My prayers reveal layers Of pride and scorn Soothsayers predict doom And deep abiding gloom No path is clear All I see is fear Everything I hold dear Fell away with my last tear And now I lie in a Bed of Thorns My heart forlorn My soul torn In fetal position I lie But only dust falls from my Eyes Only lust propels my sighs As Love dies
very deep.......spirtual......and human.......

Mark, I have to agree with Floria on this one, as scripture (in description of God's grace) tell us to seek him while He may be found, but it we leave him entirely, he will leave us as well. This is what makes us feel the weight of the "doom" in our lives. The fact that we have tried to "go it alone," and failed. As the common expression goes "we are only human."
I pray for a restoration of strength to you.
This, I believe, is the most powerful poem I have read of yours.
