My Side

As a ribbon of morning light paves my way
I make my way around the room.

Rituals etched in stone are performed. Not
much variation except for one little thing forgotten
and must be retrieved.

I turn around.

There you are, asleep on my side, holding me in your
dreams. Your mouth curved in a satisfied smile
I watch you as your back rounds.

Your beautiful form on my side, surrounding me,
wanting me and my warmth, blindly reaching and
caressing me.

Lovingly, I touch your back and gasp at the wisp of
warm air.

I see myself. I am your aura. Each breath draws me
further into you.

I want to watch us in this living dream as you take me
in and consume my soul.

Your amber eyes flicker through your lids to guide
me, but I know my way to your heart – by heart..

I get back in bed on my side and join you. I
will enter your dream. Show me what you see on
my side. Can you handle both of us?

Marilyn,
Bless you for being willing and adeptly able to express this depth of what relationship can be. This is the kind of expression that young confused kids need a lot more patterning of to help them find the high road out of the dumps the "dating" scene can bring. Keep holding the door open for me, too. We're headed that way, but not quite Here yet.
