shadow dancing

shadow dancing


you act as if
they cannot see
the real you,
you pretend
not to be.


with me,
you say,
we are free
to live large,
love loud.


yet i
remain the dark
and shadow
to your delight
and display. 


bones chilled
in unshed light,
on your arm,
all is show
and little tell.


saved off,
to rude corners
in deep recess,
i serve only to fill
a hole, your heart.
