Double Exposure
I took a selfie on Monday.
Must have been a bad day.
Shoulders sagging,
I was a biology poster child,
"The Anatomy of Defeat,"
hooded eyes,
avoiding the light.
The math in the room
was all wrong.
A late afternoon
fading to dusk,
dark shadows
everywhere.
I looked at the picture.

Yes.

Tuesday, I tried again.
Looked to be a better day.
With better lighting,
a good night's sleep,
chin lifted
toward the sun,
shoulders settled.
An honest geometry
to my face.
Something loosened
beneath my ribs,
free to be
and breathe.
I took the picture.
SAVE.
Would you like to move this picture to your cloud?
Yes, please, and make it a big puffy one,
but not so big it blocks the sun.
Love your reference to the cloud. I've still don't know what it's for because I keep my backups on back up drives. In the so-called cloud, they may be accessed by hackers more easily.
