The Circle of Mother's Skirts
...care worn, strength in fabric, catching us all

Strong maiden she is,
the Earth, our mother,
wearing wide skirts,
all-encompassing cloth,
catching those who fall,
embracing their spirits,
drawing all safely home,
arms holding our very sky,
feet firmly planted in the soil,
head held to the heavens,
heart in all the right places;

security is never breached.

that last line makes the poem feel a bit sarcastic in my opinion... after our national security has already been breached once... good stuff... love the picture too ;)

If only the inhabitants who tread upon mother's forehead would only stop and hear the wisdom. Mother Earth should be part of a presidential debate, and she'd "win" hands down.

Highly descriptive poem, with a surprising exit line.
much peace and blessin's Anne,
