... death feathers a pillow

Poem Artwork

.... death feathers a pillow.

Don't be surprised when ..

watching someone slip away,

things once so very clear

may go green, even black,

and then very nearly purple.

And you'll think, "This can't

be a part of someone I love."

                ***

But it is, so don't hesitate,

giving the colors the regard,

you used to give the words.

Wisdom once spilled forth

out these lips, jaw lax now,

death's rainbow spilling out,

soaking the white pillow slip.

Very well expressed. I like your metaphor. When things get ugly. Been there.
