a walking scab, upon further exploration, reveals harsh scar tissue, below that, red-raw wound. no real healing. debrided to the bone, no viable tissue left, nothing to stitch, everything disrupted, extreme friability. failed reapproximations, sutures tied for naught, nothing left to have, zero remaining to hold. already gone.
