burning out,
listening all day long,
the words of others, droning.
documenting ...
this, that and the bloody other.
satiated,
filled to overflowing,
ears plugged full, still buzzing.
trying to forget ...
this, that and the bloody other.
hungry,
arriving at the mic,
ordering chicken, a cold drink.
desperately needing ...
this, that and the bloody other.
what?!?!?
i hear, "six lumps of coal,
freeze-dried, a head's in the window,"
anxiously awaiting ...
this, that and the bloody other.
... poetry is everywhere ... thankfully ... 'twas the end of a very long day, transcribing my brain loose with "this, that and the *truly* bloody other." end-o-day-o, this is what i heard, at the dq drive-through with my nine-year-old ... my famous last words ... "let's make dinner a simple act," yet it turned into one more thing to be deciphered. What we think he said, "six-sixty-four, please drive ahead to the window."
