Pinned to the Mat I ran from you all these years, thinking I was one step ahead of your game. I biked away, fast, off-trail, in the dark, odd-ass hours, left no tracks. I slept past you, head driven, deep to pillow, rounded, fetal, coiled up tight. I drove you from my head, out of my life, swore out loud, you did not exist. But you are there, deep inside me, clutching my ribs, too near my heart, and I cry "Uncle!"

Wow, and Ow, anne. Gut-wrenching write, each stanza has it's own sad beauty of words and images. Great piece, painful read.
