Baroque Pearl

The sun never
came up today.
In its stead,
an irregularly shaped
and yet perfect,
amber-yellow bead
nestled itself against
the pale blue velvet
of an early dawn.
This morning,
this was...
... the moon.

Anne, I saw that moon too as its light pierced my eyes and awakened me earlier than I had planned. Your write about it is perfect. Thank you.
