You cannot baptize the wind,
wrapped in a white nightgown.
Hair that grows dark and wild
cannot be pruned to finer form.
What's there at the beginning,
washed or cut away, need return.
What becomes then of a mutilated,
drowned and cropped wild child?
Great spirits will come in the night,
thrusting fabric to robe the gale.
The breeze will loft steady, true ,
rage no more, path forever cleared.

i absolutely *loved* this; the wind is above all my favorite element, such power and gentleness at any given moment, kind of like this poem as well; beautiful image as well
