night terror

night terror

always bled
grossly undernourished
such exquisite pain
in living.

dead girl
knows no better
keeps on walking
sleeping upright.

painful dreams
sent to self
the day's leftovers
so unforgiving.

poetry is
one sure bet
pen versus knife
ensuring survival.

keeping quiet
provides no comfort
no sleep or per chance
... just screams.
