True Complement

Contentment.
Shared smiles, gentle shoves, knowing nods that say,
"Yes, exactly, I understand completely.  Too perfect!"
Implications, neither one of us having said a word.

Playful, Trust.
Being spoon-fed "something" in the early morning hours,
his shadow before me, silver extended, "Here, taste this!"
"Why, what is it?" I question, lips parted, already tasting.

Comfort, Calm.
Sleep that comes, readily, when I thought for absolute,
I was not tired, could go all night through, all year long,
the rest of my life, without benefit of a good night's sleep.

Nothings, Intrigue.
The things not yet said, but prefaced by, "Oh, nothing,"
and the ability to understand that behind the "nothings,"
is really something quite special, and patience a virtue.

Laughter.
The kind that catches in my throat, like that of a child,
laughter that reaches down inside me, then bursts loudly
into a room, where he is laughing too, a shared melody.

Strength, Recognition.
What it takes to realize that chance and luck of the draw
are not to be sneezed at, that meetings of the mind and heart,
no matter their happenstance, bear further investigation.

Hope.
"How did you know that I liked this, would appreciate that,
felt the same way about these things, or thought some other?"
Knowing our selves, therein lies the hope of mirrored souls.

Aptly put, the mutual communion of thought and action.
