My son had many things go frightening wrong, Gun exploding in his face, hit by lightning while hunting and stopping a bankrobbery when the robbers gun jammed. He thought God was telling him it was his time.

Look Ahead!

Your zest of life has always been such a big part of you.
In playing sports, things in school, in everything you do.
You've always tried hard and made the good things last.
From the most boring job through the most difficult task.

Lately, I’m concerned with you quitting things vital to you.
If it’s because your zest of life is gone, my concerns may be true .
Jim, not everything in life is easy or goes the right way,
Circumstances are often hard when plans go array.

In the past two years, you've had a few unfortunate breaks,
Ones so unnerving, they'd make a SAINT shake.
But you're one of the hardiest people I know.
So use that strength and experience to heal and to grow.

People have said that nothing can keep a good man down.
I know you can handle it, 'cause you’re the best man around.
Don't look back on those dreadful things, and face those fears.
Look ahead, to where your visions are and happiness will soon appear.

You’re loved by those who know you and admired by many peers.
You've been quite a steady leader, for many numerous years.
Now lead yourself out from this awful darkened place,
And let's see those eyes brighten in that handsome face.

Written for my son Jim
With Love,

Mom

...your son will always have your vote of confidence...you will always be his mother...and he will forever hear your voice...everywhere he looks...even though he may not always be listening.

Jim seems to be a bulk full of life's promises, and like a young tree having a sturdy place to lean on his mother (I envy him, the good way)
All the mothers should write a poem to her child, to let know not only with spoken words abour her love.
Great, Mommy.

"He thought God was telling him it was his time." Maybe God was telling him "...it was His time to tell you (Jim) how proud He was of you." We know God looks after us, and when we survive frightening circumstances, it's God's message to us that there are more things for us to accomplish in our lives. You...proud Momma, and rightfully so, Bonnie. He...good man, and handsome, to boot! :o)
