Forever With Me!
Near the end of my father’s life, I sat beside his bed.
Memories of my childhood floating through my head.
Looking at this beloved man that was my towering force.
This man who I always went to for my existing source.
How then can I say goodbye to him when he’s such a part of me?
When I love everything about him, everything he is & everything I see.
He’s been my rock since childhood & he never let me down.
Dad’s so much apart of me with his values that are sound.
How then can I go on & be the person he wanted me to be?
Without his undying wisdom advising & always guiding me?
God knew what he was doing, when he made this man my dad.
HE knew he’d guide me to the Lord & make my heart so glad.
So even though my father’s departing & leaving me behind.
He will be forever with me, in my heart, my soul, my mind.
